Chandigarh: Ashok Arora, former chief of Haryana Indian National Lok Dal (INLD) and Congress candidate from Thanesar constituency in Kurukshetra district of Haryana has said that his party will restore Kurukshetra to its past glory.
Kurukshetra, which is a place of historical and religious importance, had received a total grant of Rs 1,146 crore during the last five years of the BJP rule. Kurukshetra town is a part of the Thanesar Assembly constituency.
While sitting BJP MLA Sudha at his election meetings is showcasing "record" development work done during his tenure with the help of the grant, Arora raises questions over the use of the fund and claims that "nothing concrete is visible on the ground except corruption".
Speaking to ETV Bharat, ahead of the upcoming assembly polls in the state, the senior leader said that Congress will restore Kurukshetra to its past glory. He also said that farmers, working-class people, pensioners and youth are frustrated by the policy of BJP government.
"We will restore Kurukshetra to its past glory," he said on the development agenda for the district.
