Swarms of desert locusts enter Sirsa from Rajasthan

Haryana declares high alert once again as desert locusts have entered into the bordering town of Sirsa. The administration along with the locals is working to save crops of the farmers from the grasshoppers.

Sirsa: The agriculture department has alerted its officials and workers as swarms of crop-destroying desert locusts have entered into this bordering town of Haryana from Rajasthan.

The state administration deployed officials and workers of the agriculture department in the affected areas immediately after it got the news, official sources said. They said villagers also reached their farms to save their crops from the grasshopper. They used their traditional methods to handle the locust attack on their crops.


Meanwhile, the government is aware of the problem and taking steps to deal with it.

Two weeks ago, the state government had issued a high alert after locusts entered Rewari and Gurugram districts.
