Faridabad (Haryana):A police sub-inspector posted in Faridabad is being hailed as people's hero after he traced 150 missing children in one and a half years.
Amar Singh was posted in Faridabad in 2017 after which he started working the State Crime Branch and is in charge of the missing cell here. The cell takes the cases of missing children, who go missing from the city. Missing reports are also sent from other cities of the state to this cell and it is the main duty of Amar Singh to investigate the missing reports.
Meet Haryana Police SI who traced 150 missing children in one and half years SI Amar Singh said that initially when he started working in the missing cell of the State Crime Branch, he was not particularly interested in doing so, but after he witnessed the happiness that the missing children and their parents gey when they are found give him the motivation to continue with the work.
Positive use of social media
Amar Singh says that in today's modern era, social media is the biggest weapon. He started using social media to find missing children. He gets in touch with people running Facebook page, Twitter, WhatsApp group and some of the groups help him to trace the missing children.
'Finding young children is a difficult task'
Amar Singh explains that the most difficult situations are where the child's age is less as they are not able to properly reveal the address of their village or city. In such a situation, it is very difficult to help the child unite with the family. In such a cases social media comes handy as they post the pictures and videos of the missing children there.
Police of other states seek help
Police of other states sometimes seeks help from Haryana Police ASI Amarsingh to find the missing children. Police of Uttar Pradesh, Delhi, Punjab, Rajasthan and many other states along with Haryana have also taken help from them in dozens of cases. Whenever a child disappears from the surrounding states of Haryana, in most cases, Amar Singh is contacted by police personnel from other states. Amar Singh also helps the police of other states with an open heart.
