Mysterious fever grips Haryana village, 24 children dead

In Hathin area of ​​Palwal district, the havoc of mysterious fever continues. After the death of 11 children in the village Chilli, 8 children have died in the village of Chhainsa in the past 10 days. As of now, the total death toll has touched 24 with the death of 5 children.

Palwal (Haryana):As many as 24 children have died of a mysterious fever that continues to create havoc in the Hathin area of ​​Palwal district. In the past 10 days, 11 children died in Chilli village, 8 in Chhainsa and 5 children in Saund.

There has been a panic among the people of the village, following the rising number of patients and death of children. According to the family of a deceased child, the kid was down with fever for two days and admitted to the Nalhad Medical College for treatment. It was during treatment that the child died.

Meanwhile, blood platelet count of a nine-month-old girl, who died at a private hospital in Hathin, found to be having less than 90,000 when compared to the normal platelet count of between 150,000 and 450,000 per microlitre of blood.

However, private hospitals which treated the girl stated that she died due to dengue. According to the villagers, more than 100 children in the village are currently in the grip of this mysterious fever.

Despite several children having passed away, the Health Department has not yet been able to trace the mysterious fever and has launched an investigation into the matter.
