Faridabad: A street dog in Haryana who lost her front legs after being run over by a train is now preparing to go to London as she found her new home there.
The three-year-old mutt, Rocky will fly to London on November 18th in a cargo plane. Her story of going from Faridabad to London is quite unique.
One year ago Rocky lost her two legs in a train accident and her back legs were also badly injured.
She was found "covered in blood" and her forelegs badly injured by a Railway Protection Force constable at Faridabad in northern Haryana state last October.
The officer carried the wounded bitch to People for Animals Organization shelters, where she was rushed to a hospital and she recovered, but later she lost her two legs.
Speaking to ETV Bharat, People for Animals India president, Ravi Dubey said," If this had happened to a human being, he or she could have expressed his pain in words, but this poor animal could not even express her pain and misery. Nevertheless, the Faridabad 'People for Animals' Organization understood her plight and got her prosthetic legs fitted as after losing legs Rocky could only walk by fixing her head on the ground and dragging along her body."
"Rocky is a very brave dog, even after going through trauma and losing both her legs, she's displayed incredible resilience, strength and spirit to live. In India, pets are often abandoned and abused. We are very happy that Rocky will have a safe and open space," said Dubey.
