Journo booked for spreading 'provocative' messages on social media

Journalist, Rajesh Kundu has been booked by the Hisar police, on the charges of provoking the farmers to protest through his messages on WhatsApp and Facebook.

Hisar:Rajesh Kundu, a journalist and founder of "The Ink" has been booked by the police on Friday, on the charges of provocating the farmers protest through his messages on WhatsApp and Facebook.

According to the police, inciteful messages were sent to the Whatsapp group from Kundu's mobile number. A case has been registered against the journalist.

Soon after the case was registered, fury spread among journalists across the state. Many senior journalists took to Twitter to condemn this decision against the journalist.

Later, many Congress leaders also condemned the decision. Congress general secretary Randeep Surjewala tweeted and said, "Government terror and insanity crossed all limits! Shame."

Congress State President Kumari Selja also condemned the incident. Selja said, "Government should understand that the voice of journalists cannot be suppressed by such antics."
