Fatehabad (Haryana):A couple has filed a complaint with the health department alleging medical negligence by the Haryana's Fatehabad Civil Hospital after a pregnant woman lost her hand during delivery.
The couple visited the Fatehabad Civil Hospital on May 1, where they were blessed with a baby. However, the woman lost her hand after she was allegedly administered a wrong injection by the doctor.
The matter came to light after the brother-in-law of the woman complained about it to the Health Minister Anil Vij on Sunday.
Balraj Singh of Tohana area said, "My brother had brought his wife, Sudesh Kumari after she complained of labour pain, where doctor Dr Sachin took Rs 3000 from him. After this, the doctor administered an injection in her vein following which Sudesh Kumari complained of severe pain."
"After her delivery, she became unconscious. Subsequently, we rushed her to PGI Chandigarh as her condition deteriorated, where doctors cut Sudesh Kumari's hand to save her," Balraj said.
"We have filed a complaint with Health Minister Anil Vij and we are demanding strict action against Dr Sachin. Earlier too, Dr Sachin has been accused of medical negligence and demanding bribe. But till now no action has been taken on him," he added.
On the other hand, refuting the allegation of the wrong injection, Dr Sachin said," The woman came for delivery. After which the staff nurse administered an injection. The woman had a normal delivery. After delivery, the woman began to have pain in her hands. if we did anything wrong, then action will be taken after examining the matter."
