Kurukshetra: A 14-year-old girl from Kurukshetra city of Haryana was allegedly abducted, raped and was later forced into prostitution at the behest of human traffickers, an official said.
Haryana State Commission For Women took cognizance of the matter after the girl's family members lodged a complaint. Haryana State Commission For Women member, Namrata Gaur interacted with the kin of the victim and slammed police for not taking the case seriously. She further stated the police's investigation as slow and poor.
"The girl was abducted from a village in Kurukshetra on 20 January 2020. The family went on to file the missing reports, they also exhibited suspicion of abduction but to no avail. Unfortunately, the victim fell into a trap of human trafficking," Gaur said.
Gaur went on to add: "She was sold for money and later forced into prostitution. According to the victim's statement, she was raped for over a hundred times. In fact, every day three to four men raped her. She was also taken to UP and Ludhiana by a woman named Kajal who is one of the main accused in this case."

The victim's mother added, "My daughter was abducted by few men from our village, they then took her to a hotel where she was allegedly gang-raped. Further, she was sold to a woman who forced her into prostitution. After my daughter tried to escape, she was forcefully married to a Muslim man. Fortunately, with the help of a few persons, she reached the police station."
Meanwhile, Haryana State Commission For Women has said that stern actions will be taken against the officials who were negligent in the investigation.
