Rohtak (Haryana):Former Haryana Chief Minister and senior Congress leader Bhupinder Singh Hooda on Monday expressed confidence that his party would form the next government as the people were disappointed with the failures of the current BJP government.

Hooda said the people desire change

Speaking to ETV Bharat, Hooda said that the Congress was receiving massive support during its campaign, and based on that he could say that the party was definitely forming the next government in Haryana.

Claiming that the Congress had always delivered on its promises, he said that the BJP on the other hand just disappointed the people.

"The BJP government had made a total of 154 promises, but it fulfilled none. People had hope, but it has now turned into disappointment," he said.

"Whatever promises we made in 2005 and 2009, we delivered on each one of them. People are now seeing which government actually performed," he added.

The former Chief Minister further claimed that his party had made Haryana the number 1 state in terms of economy and investment, but under the BJP, the state is number 1 in unemployment and crime.

Hooda brushed aside the BJP's claims of winning 75 seats in the 90-member Assembly, saying that only the people of Haryana would decide which party wins how many.

He further opined that an "undercurrent", the present government's failures, and the desire for change among the people will script a new story this time around.

On being asked about Ashok Tanwar announcing his support for JJP, Hooda said that though INLD was the main opposition last time, their behaviour suggested that they were the main associates of the ruling party.

"The fight is only between the Congress and BJP. The other parties are just vote-cutters," he said.
