Youth arrested for cutting birthday cake with sword

In yet another instance of dangerous cake cutting ceremonies on public roads, city police on Wednesday arrested a college student for cutting multiple cakes with a sword on a public road in Gujarat's Surat district. The youth has been identified as Madhav Surti, a resident of the Model town area of Limbayat.

A video of 21-year-old, Madhav Surti's birthday celebration, where he is seen cutting multiple cakes with a shiny sword went viral on social media.

According to police, on the intervening night of Wednesday and Thursday, Surti's friends laid down half a dozen cakes on two-wheelers outside his house. Reportedly, a group of youngsters blocked the road to help the ceremony take place unhindered.

The whole celebration was shot by one of his friends and shared on several social networking sites.

Following this, the police took action and nabbed the accused.

However, police are yet to arrest other youths seen in the video.
