Woman municipal corporator, family provide services to COVID-19 patients at Surat centre

It is said that no political leader stands by the people in times of crisis and appear before them once every five years during elections. However, Kailashben Solanki, who recently won the Surat municipal corporation election, has proved this wrong by serving coronavirus patients for 16 hours daily wearing a PPE kit. Not just her, but her husband and doctor daughter too are serving the COVID-19 patients.

Municipal corporator Kailashben Solanki has saved the lives of many COVID-19 patients. For her excellent social service, she was awarded by President Ramnath Kovind.

Over 1,200 patients have been cured under the supervision of the woman corporator

When a year ago COVID-19 cases were increasing in Surat, she had served the same Atal COVID centre for three months. She had not even gone home during the period.

More than 1,200 corona patients had got cured under her supervision and not a single patient in this COVID centre had died.

This time again during the COVID second wave, she started providing her service at the COVID centre. This time, her husband and daughter too are tending to the Covid patients. She said to serve people is the ultimate religion and it is her duty. Her husband, a nurse, is tending to the patients despite the fact that both his lungs are not functioning normally. Her daughter Reshma Solanki, a doctor, said when patients come to the COVID centre, they take care of them risking their own lives.
