Gandhinagar (Gujarat): The much-anticipated Vibrant Gujarat Global Summit 2024 commenced with an illustrious inaugural ceremony featuring Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Wednesday.
The President of the United Arab Emirates (UAE), Mohammed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, met Prime Minister Modi as the Vibrant Gujarat Global Summit 2024 began in Gandhinagar. The two leaders shook hands as they exchanged greetings minutes before the summit commenced in Gujarat.
Soon after PM Modi met with the heads of states today, he along with UAE President Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Prime Minister of the Czech Republic Petr Fiala, Mozambique President Filipe Jacinto Nyusi, President of Timor-Leste Jose Ramos-Horta, Gujarat CM Bhupendra Patel, and Gujarat Governor Acharya Devvrat posed for a group photograph at the Vibrant Gujarat Global Summit 2024 in Gandhinagar.
The event sees significant gathering of global leaders, dignitaries, and influential personalities. The PM leads the proceedings as the key speaker during the inaugural ceremony.

"We are all aware of the global circumstances. So, in times like these, if the Indian economy is displaying such resistance, if the growth in India is showing such momentum, a big reason behind this is our focus on structural reforms in the last 10 years. These reforms have enhanced the capacity, capability and competitiveness of India's economy..." says PM Modi.
"Today, India is the fifth largest economy in the world. 10 years ago, India was on the 11th position. Today, all major agencies estimate that India will be in the top three economies of the world in the coming years. Let people across the world do their analysis, but it is my guarantee that it will happen," says Modi.
"The participation of UAE President Sheikh Mohammed bin Zayed in this Summit, is a matter of great joy for us. His presence as the chief guest at Vibrant Gujarat Summit is a symbol of the ever-strengthening relations between India and UAE...," says PM Modi.
PM Modi address: "This is the first Vibrant Gujarat Global Summit in this Amrit Kaal. Therefore, this is even more significant. Representatives from more than 100 countries, who are participating in this Summit, are crucial partners in this development journey of India..."
Prime Minister Narendra Modi begins his address to the Vibrant Gujarat Global Summit 2024. "In the recent past, India completed 75 years of independence. Now, India is working on its goal for the next 25 years. We have the goal of making it a developed country by the time it celebrates 100 years of independence. Therefore, these 25 years' duration is India's Amrit Kaal," says PM Modi.
Finance Minister of Nepal, Prakash Sharan Mahat says, "Nepal and India have signed a long-term power purchase agreement of exporting 10,000 MW of electricity to India over ten years of time. This will immensely open up investment opportunity in hydropower in Nepal. It will also contribute to achieve green energy transition target, not only for Nepal but also in India. Situated between two global economic powers, Nepal has adopted liberal, market-oriented economic policy since the early nineties and is a member of several international organizations and multilateral agencies, and we are implementing trade and investment policies and regulation of international standards..."
Ryad Mezzour, Minister of Industry & Commerce, Morocco says "The best and the most competitive country in producing cars is Bharat. Moreover, thanks to our ideal position as a continental and world-class hub...Morocco and Bharat can work closely through a South-South triangular cooperation to promote growth in Africa, India and the world. Indeed, our strategic partnership should also enable our countries to develop joint initiatives that include the entire African continent in the process of industrializing and developing economies but also to ensure food and health. The time is right for Morocco and Bharat to forge a stronger, more dynamic partnership..."
Global logistics management and services firm DP World will build a container terminal in Gujarat and is committed to further investments in India, the company's Chairman Sultan Ahmed bin Sulayem said. Addressing the Summit, he said the company will continue to partner with the Indian logistics sector and support manufacturing industries in Gujarat and the rest of India to make Indian goods globally competitive and accessible.
Hosaka Shin, Vice Minister for International Affairs, Ministry of Economy, Trade and Industry, Japan says, "India and Japan are special strategic global partners...Upto this point Japanese corporations have continued to invest in India with a cumulative amount of investment between 2000 and 2023 reaching 38.3 billion dollars. This amount is second in the world..."
Lord Tariq Ahmad, Minister of State (Middle East, North Africa, South Asia, United Nations and the Commonwealth), UK says "We have just signed an MoU to enable closer collaboration between our higher education institutions. We want to go further in the areas of the creative economy, nurturing artists and boosting cultural exchange. Business links will continue to grow, creating jobs and prosperity. Tata Group will build a semiconductor factory at Dholera in Gujarat, Tata Sons Chairman N Chandrasekaran said on Wednesday. Speaking at the 10th Vibrant Gujarat Global Summit here, he said the group is about to start a 20 GW gigafactory for manufacturing lithium ion batteries in Sanand in two months. The group, he said, has also made a commitment and is on the verge of concluding, and announcing a huge semiconductor fab in Dholera.
Billionaire Gautam Adani on Wednesday announced an investment of over Rs 2 lakh crore in Gujarat, largely in building a green energy park that would be visible even from space. Speaking at the Vibrant Gujarat Global Summit here, he said the investment will create 1 lakh jobs. Of the Rs 55,000 crore committed at the last summit, Adani Group has already spent Rs 50,000 crore, he said.
Reliance was, is and will always remain a Gujarati company, says chairman Mukesh Ambani. He says that Gujarat alone will be a USD 3 trillion economy by 2047 and no power can stop India from becoming 35 trillion economy by 2047. Ambani says they are ready to commission giga factory in Gujarat in second half of 2024.
ArcelorMittal will build the world's single biggest steel manufacturing factory at Hazira in Gujarat by 2029, company's executive chairman Lakshmi Mittal said on Wednesday. The factory will have a capacity of 24 million tonne per annum, he said speaking at the 10th Vibrant Gujarat Global Summit here. He said ArcelorMittal has signed MoUs with the Gujarat government for phase two of the Hazira plant in the summit.
Maruti Suzuki India will invest Rs 32,000 crore to set up its second manufacturing facility in Gujarat, Suzuki Motor Corporation President Toshihiro Suzuki said on Wednesday.
