Surat cops get creative with COVID-19 messages

Using public address system, police are approaching people by playing patriotic songs along with announcements regarding the need to abide by the lockdown.

Surat:While the police across the country is being criticized for using force to impose lockdown, cops in Surat's Jahangirpura are working round the clock to ensure that people stay safe and are coming up with innovative ways of sending their messages across.

The Jahangirpura police seem to have shunned their lathis and adopted a gentler way to encourage people to remain indoors and not to step out during the COVID-19 lockdown.

Using a public address system, police are approaching people by playing a medley of patriotic songs along with announcements regarding the need to abide by the lockdown.

In spite of taking strict action against the violators, police are ensuring peaceful lockdown in the city even as India ramps up in its fight against COVID-19, with the extension of lockdown.

There has been a positive public response which was evident from the appreciation people conveyed by flashing lights from their mobile phones.

Along with doctors and nurses, police are also working tirelessly in order to contain the virus.
