Gandhinagar (Gujarat): Bhartiya Janata Party president, Amit Shah, will be contesting his first ever Lok Sabha election from Gandhinagar constituency in Gujarat. On Tuesday, the Gandhinagar constituency in Gujarat will vote in the Lok Sabha elections.

Shah is pitted against Congress' CJ Chavda from Gandhinagar Lok Sabha seat in Gujarat.

Gujarat will go on polls in the third phase for 26 seats. Gandhinagar is Amit Shah and Narendra Modi’s home state, and all eyes will be on Shah after PM Modi declined to contest from Vadodara as he had done in 2014.

Shah is contesting from a seat previously represented by party stalwarts like former prime minister Atal Bihari Vajpayee, former home minister Lal Krishan Advani and former Election Commissioner and Congress leader TN Seshan.

In Gujarat, over four crore voters will decide the fate of 371 candidates in fray for 26 Lok Sabha constituencies.
