MP bicycle man on mission to spread awareness across country

Brajesh Sharma of Madhya Pradesh has cycled more than 20,000 km across the country to spread awareness on organic farming and menace of single-use plastic. Sharma has cycled his way through seven states, visited 105 cities, over 8,000 villages and many universities.

Bhavnagar:Brajesh Sharma of Madhya Pradesh's Morena district has proved that Where there is a will, there is a way. He has been campaigning to promote organic farming and ban of single-use plastic for the last one year by cycling 20,000 km in India and abroad. He reached Bhavnagar recently.

Sharma, who was working at a private company in Europe, once saw a video where a bird was trapped in plastic. He then decided to embark on a drive to create awareness about the threat to life and the environment from plastic.

For this, he chose to pedal his way on a bicycle throughout the world. He quit his job and took to riding a bicycle to spread awareness.

Sharma has cycled his way through seven states of the country, visited 105 cities, over 8,000 villages and many universities.

He has interacted with over 22 college students in an effort to convince them of the benefits of organic farming and the dangers of single-use plastic.

He stops in villages and talks with farmers about organic farming and its benefits. After cycling along the coastal area of Gujarat, he will head south towards Mumbai.

Notably, When Sharma was in Mumbai, the lockdown was announced so he spent time in the nearby forest areas. Later, he met Deepti Shah and Krishnakant Parikh in Mumbai who expressed their willingness to join him during the campaign in Gujarat.

Both Deepti Shah and Krishnakant Parikh accompanied him to Bhavnagar in his campaign for organic farming and ban on single-use plastic.
