Indian Coast Guard apprehends Pak boat with 12 crew members off Gujarat coast

The Indian Coast Guard (ICG) on Tuesday apprehended a Pakistani shipping boat that intruded into the Indian waters off Gujarat coast, the ICG said on Wednesday.

Dwarka (Gujarat):The Indian Coast Guard (ICG) on Tuesday apprehended a Pakistani shipping boat that intruded into the Indian waters off Gujarat coast, the ICG said on Wednesday. ICG ship ‘Rajratan’, while on a surveillance mission, apprehended the Pakistani boat ‘Allah Pawawakal’ with 12 crew members on board.

“The ICG Ship under the command of Commandant (JG) Gaurav Sharma, challenged and the boarding party of the Ship, despite rough and adverse weather conditions, was tasked to board the boat,” said ICG in a statement.

The ICG said it shifted the Pakistani boat to Gujarat's Okha for a further joint investigation by appropriate agencies.

Regarding rescue operations, the ICG said it rescued seven fishermen from a sinking boat this week.
