Palanpur (Gujarat): BJP MP Parbatbhai Patel's son has filed a police complaint after the MP's alleged video in a compromising position with a young woman went viral lately. He alleged that the video is morphed and was released to tarnish the image of his father. The complainant also mentioned that they have been blackmailed by some people since 2016.
A week ago, a close relative of the Banaskantha MP posted some screenshots of the video in social media stating that the entire video will go viral on social media on August 15 at 12 noon. However, the video went viral on social media even before August 15. The Lok Sabha MP of Banaskantha gave out a statement that he is honest and some are blackmailing him. He maintained that the video is morphed and his face has been superimposed in the video.
After the video went viral, the MP's son lodged a complaint at Tharad police station. The police registered a complaint and started an investigation. Dy SP Tharad P S Chaudhary said that two people who were involved in the crime have been detained. The video is sent to Forensic Science Laboratory for further investigation, he said.
Meanwhile, State Education Minister Bhupendrasinh Chudasama vouched for the character of Parbatbhai Patel. Addressing media, Chudasama said, "Parbat Patel is an honest and sincere leader in public life. He is a leader of pure character. I personally know him for over 40 - 45 years. This is an attempt to blackmail and defame him. The perpetrators have conspired and legal action will now be taken against the accused involved in the case by police."
