Rajkot (Gujarat): Criminals laying hands on ornaments, diamond-studded jewellery, and precious items happens every other day but robbers in Rajkot city of Gujarat were recently caught for stealing two sacks of human hair. The 40 kg hair was worth Rs 2 lakh, an apt target for the five robbers. Human hair is used in making wigs which has huge international demand.
According to the complaint filed by Pushpendra Singh, a human hair trader from Uttar Pradesh, who buys hair from barber shops in Gujarat and sells it to traders in Kolkata, he had purchased 40kg of hair worth Rs 2 lakh from two salons on Raiya road in Rajkot. Singh was going to Morbi on a motorcycle after purchasing hair from Rajkot on Tuesday night.
When Pushpendra Singh reached Raia Road in Rajkot, three persons travelling in an auto-rickshaw and two riding on a bike began chasing Pushpendra's bike. The criminals intercepted Pushpendra and looted two sacks containing 40 kg of hair. Pushpendra then immediately informed the police. Upon receiving information, the police swung into action.
