Gandhinagar (Gujarat): The Gujarat High Court on Tuesday has lambasted the state government for mishandling the Covid crisis.

The court said the government was functioning only on paper and added "the situation has become grave because the government is not functioning in the right direction."

The bench headed by the chief justice raised several questions on the working of the government and the Amdavad Municipal Corporation.

Citing the allegations that the Amdavad Municipal Corporation (AMC) is providing treatment to only those patients who are brought by the 108 emergency ambulances, High Court asked the advocate general if the AMC does not come under the state's purview.
