Anand (Gujarat):Contrary to the official claim that corona cases are reducing in the district, as many as 200 corona positive cases are being reported daily. On May 11, a record 231 cases were reported in the area. The second wave of corona pandemic has proved more dangerous to children who had remained unaffected by and large during the first wave of the pandemic.
In the last one and a half month, 217 were infected by the coronavirus
As many as 3,739 active corona positive cases were recorded officially in the last one and a half months. These included 217 children. In the month of April, of the 1,857 corona cases, there were 104 children below the age of 18 years while in the 11 days of May, of the total 1,882 corona positive cases, there were 113 children below the age of 18 years.

People have begun to complain that the government is not taking any concrete steps to tackle the deadly spread of the coronavirus pandemic. People have to struggle a lot for getting admission in hospitals which have Oxygen, secure hospital beds reserved by the government for corona patients and in obtaining the vital life-saving injection and medicines.
5.60 per cent of total corona cases registered in April were of children below the age of 18 years
Close scrutiny of data prepared by ETV Bharat when the corona pandemic was rapidly spreading revealed a shocking fact that of the total corona positive cases recorded in the month of April, as many as 5.60 were of children below the age of 18 years. In the month of May, as many as 6 per cent of the infected persons were children.
In all 3,20,695 people in the district have been tested for corona till date.
