Aravalli (Gujarat): The bodies of those dying from coronavirus in Modas are cremated in the town’s crematorium. An elderly Muslim man looks after the maintenance of the crematorium and the supply of firewood. He has been providing his service unflinchingly all through day and night, despite the prevailing COVID-19 pandemic.
At 71, he works without tiring
COVID-19 has shaken the world since last more than one year. The pandemic has claimed millions of lives. The pandemic has taken its toll on life in the Aravalli district also. In such trying times, Abdul Rahman Chacha has been providing his unfailing service in the town’s crematorium.
Talking to ETV Bharat, Abdul Rahman Chacha said he has been holding the contract of maintenance of the crematorium and supply of firewood for the last ten years. Whenever the family and relatives of those who die of coronavirus call him, he provides firewood and other materials necessary for conducting the last rites to them in the crematorium despite his 71 years of age.
