Ahmedabad (Gujarat): After he lost consciousness while addressing a meeting at Vadodara, Gujarat CM Vijay Rupani has been brought to the UN Mehta Institute of Cardiology & Research Centre for a medical checkup.

Prime Minister Narendra Modi also called CM Rupani and asked about his health. Gujarat BJP President CR Patil and home minister Pradeepsinh Jadeja have reached the hospital already.

Doctors are saying that he is fine now. They added that the CM may have lost consciousness due to low BP caused by fatigue and stress.

Rupani, who was visibly unwell, was in Vadodara to address three public gatherings ahead of the civic body polls scheduled for February 21. He was addressing the third gathering in Nizampura area of the city while he fainted.
