Speculation over AIMIM poll plans in Gujarat

All political parties have begun preparations for the elections of local self-government bodies in the state. With the visit of Syed Imtiaz and Waris Pathan of Asaduddin Owaisi led AIMIM to Vadodara, speculation is rife that the party too is considering to jump into the fray.

Vadodara (Gujrat): Asaduddin Owaisi has begun preparations for fielding his political party in the forthcoming elections to the local self-government bodies in Gujarat. The party’s national spokesman Waris Pathan and Imtiaz Jalil are on a tour of the state. They will be meeting BTP leader Chhotu Vasava in Bharuch.

Meetings for three days in Vadodara, Bharuch and Surat

Bharatiya Janjati Party (BTP) has announced that it will have an alliance with Owaisi’s All India Majlis-E-Ittehadul Muslimeen (AIMIM) party for contesting the elections of the local self-government bodies. With the announcement of BTP and AIMIM at a time when the elections to the Vadodara Municipal Corporation are scheduled in near future, politics has heated up in political circles.

Two leaders will meet Chhotubhai Vasava in Bharuch

AIMIM’s MP from Aurangabad Syed Imtiaz Jalil and party’s national spokesman Waris Pathan arrived at the Vadodara airport on Friday and were given a rousing welcome by their supporters. Member of Parliament Syed Imtiaz said he would be meeting BTP president Chhotu Vasava today (Saturday) to discuss forging a grand alliance. He also said that so far Muslims were being used only as a rubber stamp and now AIMIM will take up the problems of not only Muslims but all other sections of the society.
