New Delhi: On the occasion of Gandhi Jayanti, Indian Youth Congress (IYC) took out a symbolic candle march from Raisina Road to Jantar Mantar in Delhi to demand justice for the Hathras gang-rape victim.
In the march many were seen dressed up as Mahatama Gandhi, holding a candle walking towards Jantar Mantar in solidarity with the victim who died.
Addressing the media, IYC President Srinivas BV said, "Yogi Adityanath Government could not provide security to the Dalit daughter victimized by Hathras gang rape. At the same time, after her death, he is doing injustice to the family by torturing them. We will fight against all kinds of injustice and will not remain silent until justice is done."

He added, "This is Yogi Raj where the system has changed into Jungle Raj. Religion contractors did not care for humanity or for Hindu customs. She was not a criminal who was cremated in the dark of night. The manner in which the family members were imprisoned, exposes the religious pretense of BJP and Yogi Adityanath."
Earlier today, Congress General Secretary Priyanka Gandhi Vadra attended a prayer meeting for 19-year old Hathras gangrape victim at Valmiki Temple in Delhi alleging that gross injustice has been done to her and her party will ensure justice to the girl.
The 19-year old gangrape victim succumbed to her injuries, on Tuesday. After this, her body was forcibly cremated by the UP Police on the same night while her family members were reportedly being locked at their house and couldn't perform her last rites.
