New Delhi: Taking to ETV Bharat in an exclusive interview in New Delhi, Communist Party of India (CPI) MP Binoy Viswam alleged that the "main culprit" behind the violence is a BJP supporter.

"Who did this incident...It was done by a friend of the Prime Minister who was seen standing with the Prime Minister in a photograph," said Viswam.

He was referring to Punjabi actor turned singer Deep Sidhu. Sidhu, however, clarified on Thursday that he was not involved in the violence.

Following the violence in the national capital, photographs of Sidhu standing with Prime Minister Narendra Modi, BJP MP Sunny Deol flooded the social media.

The Punjabi singer was the aide of film star turned MP Sunny Deol when the latter contested from the Gurdaspur seat in Punjab during the 2019 Lok Sabha elections.

Viswam said that the agitation will continue. "Farmers of India will not take rest until and unless the three farms laws are repealed," he said.

Referring to the January 26 violence, Viswam said, "When we look deep into the aftermath of January 26 violence, there are reasons to believe that the incident was pre-planned. Government is now trying to create a nuisance."

He said that leaders like Medha Patkar, Yogendra Yadav have been accused for the violence. "What does it mean. Now, the government is playing its own game," he said.

Viswam further said that when anti-CAA movement took place in JNU, a huge number of paramilitary forces had been deployed in the JNU premises to control a few numbers.

"In this case, a few security personnel had been deployed to control the agitators. However, a group of agitators went inside Delhi with tractors violating the directions from Kisan Sangharsh Sanity. They stated the march ahead of the scheduled timing," alleged Viswam and added "Now the government is trying to douse the agitation by disconnecting electricity, water supply etc."

Meanwhile, additional companies of paramilitary forces have already been deployed in all sites of farmers agitation.

Home secretary Ajay Kumar Bhalla chaired a meeting interview the law and order situation in Delhi with Delhi police commissioner S Srivastava, IB chief Arvind Kumar and other senior officials.

During the day, Union Home Minister Amit Shah visited the injured security personnel who were admitted in different hospitals in the national capital.

During his visit, Shah praised the security officials for their patience and restrain amid violence on January 26.
