Thief arrested from Seelampur with diamonds worth ₹10 L

A notorious burglar and his receiver were arrested by Delhi Police from Seelampur on Sunday. Police recovered stolen diamond jewellery worth more than 10 lakh rupees from their possession.

New Delhi: South Delhi's New Friends Colony Police arrested a notorious burglar and his receiver on Sunday. Police recovered stolen diamond jewellery worth more than 10 lakh rupees from their possession.

The burglar was identified as Mohd Akram (40) and receiver of stolen articles as Sheikh Khalid Mahmood (41). Police arrested them from Delhi's Seelampur area.

"The accused started night burglary and he targeted only bungalows in posh localities in Delhi. He was previously involved in more than 25 similar types of night burglaries," police said.

Further investigations are underway.
