Terrorism the gravest threat Asia faces today: EAM Jaishankar

Addressing the fifth Conference on Interaction and Confidence Building Measures in Asia (CICA) Summit in the Tajik capital, Jaishankar said that CICA members are the victims of terrorism.

New Delhi:Speaking at the fifth Conference on Interaction and Confidence Building Measures in Asia, External Affairs Minister Dr S Jaishankar claimed that terrorism poses as the gravest threat to Asia today.

"Terrorism is the gravest threat we face in Asia. CICA members are its victims and so it should be clear that terrorists and their victims must never be equated," he tweeted.

Dr Jaishankar's statement came a day after PM Modi spoke at the SCO summit in Bishkek.

Holding Pakistan accountable for sponsoring terror from its soil, PM Modi demanded that such countries should be held accountable.

The External Affairs Minister also met Tajikistan President Emomali Rahmon on the sidelines of the CICA summit Dushanbe.
