New Delhi: Protesting farmer leaders on Friday alleged that a conspiracy has been hatched to kill four of them and create disturbance during their proposed tractor rally on January 26.
At a late-night press conference at the Singhu Border, the farmer leaders presented a person who claimed that during the tractor rally, his team members that include two girls were allegedly asked to pose as policemen and baton-charge on the crowd.
Farmer leader Kulwant Singh Sandhu alleged that attempts are being made to disrupt the ongoing agitation against the three farm laws.
The arrested youth said he was instructed to go in the middle of the Kisan Tractor rally on 26th and fire in the air in the initial phase. After that, when the atmosphere turns into chaos, we were to fire on selected farmer leaders.
"Our team has given weapons at two places here. During January 26 rally, it was planned that half of the people (of his team) will be present wearing police uniforms to scatter the farmers' groups. We were also given the photograph of four people, who were to be shot, present at the stage. The person who directed us is a cop," the masked man further claimed.
"We were working for money. There are other people as well who are involved in this who are yet to be caught. I would request that our families should not be informed about this. We were to be given Rs 10,000 each to carry out the disruption," he added.
