New Delhi:Karnataka is witnessing a political turmoil as the MLAs from the ruling Congress-JDS government are resigning. In such a situation, the Speaker should satisfy himself that these resignations are given voluntarily, said Constitution Expert Subhash Kashyap.

Expressing his views on Karnataka political crisis, Constitution Expert Subhash Kashyap said that the Speaker must talk to the MLAs to confirm that their resignations are voluntary and not under any pressure.

"He should talk to the members and satisfy himself that these resignations are not under any pressure and are given by free will. Once is satisfied, he should accept these resignations," said Kashyap.
On the issue of government being in minority, Kashyap said that matter is to be decided on the floor of the house when the session is held.
