New Delhi:The members of Sikh community launched a massive protest on Monday outside the Pakistan High commission office in New Delhi against forceful conversion of minorities in Pakistan.

The protestors also demanded the safety of Sikh families residing in Pakistan.

The protests have come in the wake of a case where a teenage Sikh girl, daughter of priest ,was allegedly abducted and converted to Islam in Pakistan at gunpoint .

She was found after a video surfaced showing her forcible conversion and being renamed as 'Ayesha'. The victim's family immediately sought Pakistan PM's intervention in the matter and reached out to the international Sikh community.

The Sikh community in Nankana Sahib,Pakistan has held protests over the incident.

President of Delhi Sikh Gurudwara Management Committee (DSGMC) and Akali Dal leader Manjinder Singh Sirsa have strongly condemned the incident.

In Pakistan, many such incidents are regularly reported where Hindu, Sikh and Christian girls are forcibly converted to Islam and married to Muslim men.
