Sikh separatist threatens to blow up Air India flights on final day of Cricket World Cup

Sikhs for Justice chief Gurpatwant Pannun renewed his threat to blow up Air India flights on November 19, the day when the final match of the ongoing Cricket World Cup will take place at Ahmedabad, Gujarat. He warned that the World Terror Cup will be played. Last September, Pannun issued a threat to Canadian Hindus to leave Canada over the killing of Khalistani separatist Nijjar that triggered a diplomatic tussle between Indian and Canada.

New Delhi [India] : Designated terrorist Gurpatwant Singh Pannun, the founder of the banned Sikhs for Justice (SFJ), has renewed his threat and released a new video asking Sikhs not to fly in Air India aircraft from November 19, as their lives can be under threat. He claimed that Air India would not be allowed to operate from that day.

Pannun said that from November 19, there will be a global blockade and Air India won't be allowed to operate. His video is circulating widely on social media. He asserted that Delhi's Indira Gandhi International (IGI) Airport would remain shut on November 19 and that its name would be changed. The name of this airport will be Shahid Beant Singh, Shahid Satwant Singh Khalistan airport, when Punjab will be liberated, he said.

Gurpatwant Pannun pointed out that November 19 is the same day on which the final match of the ongoing India Cricket World Cup 2023 will take place at Ahmedabad, Gujarat. "It is the same day in November on which the final match of the World Terror Cup will be played," the SFJ chief threatened.

In September last, Pannun has issued a threat, urging Hindu-Canadians to leave Canada over the killing of Khalistani terrorist Hardeep Singh Nijjar which triggered a diplomatic standoff between the two countries. At that time, Pannun issued the threat in a video that circulated on social media and he said pro-Khalistan Sikhs have consistently shown loyalty to Canada.

Reacting to the hate speech by Gurpatwant Pannun, Hindu Forum Canada's Lawyers said his comments caused trauma and asked the Canadian Immigration Minister to ban Pannun from entering Canada. Following the repeated comments of the Sikh separatist, the Delhi police have been taking elaborate steps to step up security in the national capital. (with agency inputs)
