Lakhimpur violence: Navjot Singh Sidhu says 'politics demand blood'

Slamming the Central government over the recent farmer deaths in the Lakhimpur area of Uttar Pradesh, Congress leader Navjot Singh Sindhu took to Twitter and said that "the politics in the country demand blood, otherwise everything is stable in the country." Sidhu also hashtagged the tweet with Kisan Mazdoor Ekta Zindabad.

Meanwhile, Punjab Congress's march led by Navjot Singh Sidhu reached Patiala. Sidhu reached Mohali airport from Patiala where he said that he will fight till the minister's son who allegedly rammed the car into the protest is arrested.

"If by tomorrow, the Union Minister’s son behind the brutal murder of farmers is not arrested, the Punjab Congress will march towards Lakhimpur Kheri!," Sidhu had tweeted earlier.

On October 3, eight people were killed as violence erupted during a farmers' protest over Uttar Pradesh Deputy Chief Minister Keshav Prasad Maurya's visit. Four farmers were killed in the incident.

Two SUVs were allegedly set on fire by farmers and four others were also killed. According to protesting farmers, the union minister's son allegedly ran his car over anti-farm law protesters.
