Sardar Patel covid hospital discharges 161 patients

A total 161 patients were discharged from the Sardar Patel COVID Care Centre and Hospital in New Delhi's Chhatarpur on Monday. The hospital has a capacity of 10,000 beds, reports ETV Bharat's senior reporter Chandrakala Choudhury.

New Delhi:A large number of COVID-19 patients were discharged after recovery from the Sardar Patel COVID Care Centre and Hospital in New Delhi on Monday.

A total of 161 recovered patients including 39 women were given a rose and a certificate of wellness by ADG ITBP Amrit Mohan Prasad from the centre, according to the official spokesperson.

The centre had been made functional under the overall management of ITBP since July 5. It was envisaged as the world's largest COVID Care Centre and Hospital which can accommodate more than 10,000 patients.

Earlier on June 27, Union Home Minister Amit Shah had personally visited the COVID care centre to review the facilities.

Till now, a total of 1,515 corona positive patients have been admitted to this centre. With 161 discharges on Monday, a total of 1,127 patients have been successfully treated at the centre by the ITBP team of doctors and paramedical staff, an ITBP official informed.

The COVID-19 situation in Delhi has seen a significant improvement, with only 652 fresh cases being reported in the national capital on Sunday.
