New Delhi: A workers' union of the South Delhi Municipal Corporation has demanded compensation of rupees one crore for the family of the sanitation worker, who died in May last, saying the Delhi government had promised it.
In April, the Arvind Kejriwal-led government had declared a compensation of rupees one crore for healthcare personnel including doctors, nurses, lab technicians or hospital sanitation workers, who were infected and died while attending to Covid-19 cases.
A few days later, the CM expanded the scheme to other people who are looking after coronavirus patients and they include policemen, civil defence volunteers, teachers and fire service personnel.
