New Delhi/Ghaziabad: An autorickshaw driver's indifference towards traffic rules claimed his life and injured two others, as he along with his vehicle, travelling on the wrong side of the Hindon elevated road, collided with a four-wheeler, late on Sunday.
According to the police, the autorickshaw driver died on the spot, whereas two others sustained grievous injuries from the accident.
Passers-by, reportedly performed basic first-aid to injured and shifted them to a nearby hospital, including the driver of the four-wheeler.
Accident on Hindon elevated road claims one life The police have registered a case and sent the autorickshaw driver's body for an autopsy.
There have been instances of several such accidents on the Hindon Elevated Road, which was designed for a speed of up to 100 kmph, although the Ghaziabad Development Authority has restricted the speed limit to 80 kmph.
In a bid to check the instances of speeding and other traffic violations on the elevated road, the authorities have proposed the installation of CCTV cameras and speed radars.
