An informal meet between PM Modi and Chinese President Xi Jinping is likely to take place in Varanasi this year. The foreign ministries of both countries are in constant touch with each other to finalise the meeting.

New Delhi:Modi government is all set to revamp its China policy, just before Prime Minister Narendra Modi's swearing-in ceremony on Thursday. India and Chinese foreign ministries are in constant touch with each other to finalise the modalities of the next informal meet between Narendra Modi and Xi Jinping.

The Ministry of External Affairs said, "during the first informal summit in Wuhan, Chinese President Xi Jinping accepted the invitation of PM Modi to visit India for the next informal summit in 2019. The two sides are in constant touch through diplomatic channels to finalise the date and venue for the meeting."

ETV Bharat has learnt from MEA sources that the next informal meet between PM Modi and Chinese President Xi Jinping is likely to take place in Varanasi which is Narendra Modi's parliamentary constituency.

Meanwhile, both leaders will meet on sidelines of the SCO summit scheduled to held in Bishkek from June 13th to 14th.

Prime Minister will also meet Russian President Vladimir Putin on the sidelines of this summit. However, meeting between Pakistan PM and Narendra Modi is highly unlikely.
