New Delhi: A video showing former Congress president Rahul Gandhi sitting in a truck and interacting with truck drivers, has taken the internet by storm. According to Congress sources, Rahul took a truck ride on Tuesday in Haryana from Murthal to Ambala to speak to drivers in a bid to understand their issues and problems.

Sources from the party said that he arrived in Haryana's Murthal around 11 p.m. From Murthal, he took a truck ride around 12 in the midnight and reached Ambala and spoke to the truck drivers about their issues. After reaching Ambala, Rahul Gandhi then proceeded towards Himachal Pradesh's Shimla. The Congress leadership however remained tight-lipped on Rahul Gandhi's late night journey till the video got viral.

Rahul Gandhi has been spotted in public spaces a number of times since the last month. He had visited Bengali Market, Jama Masjid area and enjoyed the local food there. He visited North Delhi's Mukherjee Nagar area to interact with the UPSC aspirants. He was also spotted having lunch with the Delhi University students at PG Men's Hostel.

Rahul had also visited the Shakur Basti area in Delhi to speak to the slum dwellers. The women residents of Shakur Basti area spoke about the fear of bulldozers razing their homes. They raised other issues like no proper water supply, prices of essential items skyrocketing and how they are unable to buy LPG cylinders.

The former Congress MP's people connect tactics came to light during last year's Bharat Jodo Yatra in which he walked from Kanyakumari to Srinagar, traversing through the length of the country. The Congress' win in Karnataka has been credited to Rahul's Yatra by senior leaders of the party.
