Race for 'chair' kick starts in world's largest democracy

The first phase of Lok Sabha elections 2019 was held on Thursday in 20 states and union territories.

New Delhi: In a country which is considered to be the world's largest democracy, the race to start a new government has started yet again.

All political parties are in the fray as the country underwent the first phase of elections on Thursday.

Voting for the 17th Lok Sabha election has ended for 91 Lok Sabha seats in 20 states and Union Territories.

In the first phase of elections, 91 constituencies of 20 states saw big numbers of voters coming in to vote. Nirmal constituency of Telangana saw the state's first general election.
