He flayed the Chief Minister of Assam and his brother for mishandling the whole affair. "We want the Supreme Court to take suo moto cognizance of the incident and take action by registering a case against the Chief Minister and the DCP," he said.

He condemned the arrest of Maulana Kaleem Siddiqui and his two associates by the Uttar Pradesh Anti-Terrorism Squad (ATS) and termed it unconstitutional. He further stated that so far no case came to light alleging that he was indulged in religious conversions.

He recalled a case of a young man's arrest on terrorism charges but was released after languishing in prison for 10 to 15 years when the charges were not proved. He alleged that the arrests in the name of forced conversions are being made keeping an eye on the forthcoming Assembly elections in Uttar Pradesh.
