Pre-natal sex determination racket busted in Delhi diagnostic centre

Despite pre-natal sex determination banned in India, a diagnostic centre in Delhi carries out sex determination procedure illegally.

New Delhi:While prenatal sex determination and foeticide is prohibited in India, a diagnostic centre in the capital city is carrying out sex determination tests for pregnant women.

Located in K-5 Pocket E GTB Enclave Shahdara, the Metro Diagnostic centre was using a portable machine to determine the sex of the unborn child.

Based on a tip-off, the PNDT team along with SDM Seema Puri followed a woman, who helps pregnant women reach the centre.

the woman, identified as one Meenakshi said that she had brought around three patients to the Centre earlier and committed the crime despite knowing the law.

Reportedly, a similar raid was conducted in the same centre earlier too.

Despite the sealing of the place, the Centre continued to carry out its illegal tasks to earn more profits.
