Delhi:To celebrate and commemorate 75 years of progressive India and its glorious history, the Ministry of Housing and Urban Affairs is organising special events and programmes across the country from September 27 to October 3, as part of the ‘Azadi Ka Amrit Mahotsav’ celebrations.The highlight of the week will be the launch of the Swachh Bharat Mission-Urban 2.0 and AMRUT- 2.0 by Prime Minister Narendra Modi on October 1, as per press release.
To celebrate the seven years of Swachh Bharat Mission-Urban (SBM-U), the Ministry is organising 'Swachhata Se Sampannata' programme on September 27 where ‘Swachhata App 2.0’ and ‘Swachh Survekshan 2022’ will be launched.
Safaimitra Samman Amrit Samaroh will also be organised on October 2 and 3 where a virtual interaction and loan disbursement to Safaimitras will be held and digital displays for sensitising the citizens will be there.
Prime Minister Narendra Modi will launch AMRUT 2.0 on October 1. Atal Mission for Rejuvenation and Urban Transformation (AMRUT) is the first focused National Water Mission and was first launched on June 25, 2015, in 500 cities covering 60% of the urban population. All cities having a population above one lakh are covered under Mission. Providing piped water supply and sewerage and septage management is the major focus of the Mission. Stormwater drainage, non-motorised urban transport and green spaces and parks are other components of Mission.
