PM Modi to visit Bhutan in August

Prime Minister Narendra Modi is scheduled to visit Bhutan in the month of August. This would be PM's first trip to the neighbouring country since the Doklam tri-junction military face-off in the year 2017.

New Delhi:Prime Minister Narendra Modi is scheduled to visit Bhutan between August 17-18. This would be PM Modi's first trip to the neighbouring country since the Doklam tri-junction military face-off in 2017 which led to heightened tensions between India and China. The Chinese troops had intruded into disputed territory between China and Bhutan.

The two sides would be signing some important Memorandum of Understanding (MoUs) during PM Modi's visit.While no official announcement has been made by New Delhi, Bhutan's Prime Minister Dr. Lotay Tshering confirmed this at a 'meet the press' event on Friday, according to a local newspaper report in Bhutan.
