New Delhi: On the occasion of Dussehra, Prime Minister Narendra Modi will visit the DDA ground in Delhi's Dwarka to take part in the Dussehra celebrations and to set the effigy of Ravana ablaze. The Prime Minister will attend the event organised by Dwarka Sri Ram Leela Society at the DDA ground in Dwarka Sector 10 at around 5 p.m. on Tuesday, Ram Leela Society officials confirmed.
Ram Leela committee convenor Rajesh Gehlot confirming the report of PM Modi arriving there said that Prime Minister Narendra Modi is scheduled to reach the venue to attend the 11th grand Ram Leela at around 5 pm on Tuesday. Gehlot further said that Bajrang Dal and Vishwa Hindu Parishad had taken out 'Shaurya Jagran Yatra' on October 15 to mark the commencement of Ram Leela. Thousands of workers of Vishwa Hindu Parishad and Bajrang Dal along with locals participated in it. He said that this Ram Leela ground has a seating capacity of 10,000 people.
Rajesh Gehlot also said that the security has been beefed up for the arrival of PM Modi to the Ram Leela ground. Several cops will keep vigil during the Dussehra celebrations apart from the teams of National Security Guards (NSG) commandoes and Special Protection Group (SPG).
