New Delhi:Prime Minister Narendra Modi Tuesday said that changes in the recruitment system through 'Rozgar Melas' ended corruption and nepotism. He added that over 71,000 people were given appointment letters at the BJP's Rozgar Melas.
The Prime Minister explained that earlier it was difficult to apply for government job, one had to stand in line for hours just to get the application form, he narrated. In comparison, today the whole process from applying to results is done online, he said. No interview is required for Group C and D posts, he added pointing out that all these have ended the possibilities of corruption and nepotism
Narendra Modi said that every scheme of the Government of India, every policy is creating new employment opportunities for the youth. He added that the Central government has spent about Rs 34 lakh crore on capital expenditure in the last nine years.
Speaking about the infrastructure boost done by the BJP government ever since it came to power, Modi said "Before 2014, the country's rural road network spanned less than 4 lakh kilometres, but now it has expanded to over 7.15 lakh kilometres." About airports he said that the country had only 74 airports before 2014. However, the number has now increased to about 150, he added.
