PM Modi introduced the world to Tamil culture: BJP General Secretary

BJP General Secretary Muralidhar Rao while talking to ETV Bharat said that PM Modi introduced the world to the rich culture of Tamil Nadu. Rao also expressed hope and said that the Indo-China summit is expected to lighten up tensions between the two nations.

New Delhi:India and China on Saturday resolved to start a new chapter of cooperation while prudently managing their differences as Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Chinese President Xi Jinping agreed to set up a ministerial-level mechanism to boost trade and investment and work towards deepening defence and security ties during their second informal summit.

In an exclusive interview with ETV Bharat, BJP General Secretary Muralidhar Rao expressed hope and said that the informal meet was a step ahead to mend the relations between the countries.

"While choosing Mahabalipuram as the venue for the summit, PM introduced the world to the ancient town. The Tamil language is gaining importance worldwide when Modi mentioned that it is one of the ancient languages of the world," Rao added.

Noting that China-India cultural and people-to-people exchanges bear great potential, the Chinese president urged both countries to take the 70th anniversary of their diplomatic relations next year as an opportunity to conduct broader and deeper cultural and people-to-people exchanges.

The two countries' ancestors have overcome various obstacles to carry out extensive exchanges and promote the development of literature, art, philosophy and religion, which have greatly benefited both sides, Xi was quoted as saying.
