Lucknow: Several bodies were seen floating in the Ganga River in the states of Uttar Pradesh and Bihar. Following the disposal of Covid-19 dead bodies in the river, discussions have started on whether the dead bodies can spread the infection through the water.
SGPGI's head of microbiology, Dr Ujjwala Ghoshal, described it as fatal. According to the doctor, there is a protocol for disposing of the dead body. They cannot be disposed of in the river. If the corpses in the river are corona infected, then the risk of spreading the virus is imminent through the water. Many studies have also been done about this.
