New Delhi: As former Defence minister and Goa chief Minister Manohar Parrikar laid to rest with full state honours on Monday in Goa, people who has seen him working him as Defence minister in the South block consider him as honest and sincere man.
Parrikar headed the defence ministry from November 2014 to March 2017.
According to Defence expert and senior journalist Ranjit Kumar, Parrikar was known for his honesty, sincerity and integrity. He was known as an efficient and visionary minister who made long overdue reforms in the ministry of Defence, said Kumar.
"He oversaw first ever surgical strike against Pakistan. He pushed for modernisation and indigenisation of the Indian armed forces." added Kumar.
