New Delhi: With claws of Taliban growing in war-ravaged Afghanistan, External Affairs Minister Sushma Swaraj will address the Council of Foreign Ministers of Shanghai Cooperation Organisation tomorrow in Kyrgyzstan. According to the Ministry of External Affairs, her speech will be centred around terrorism and Afghanistan.
Sushma's visit is pivotal ahead of the main the SCO summit which is scheduled to held in Bishkek from June 13-14. The Council of Foreign Ministers summit provides representatives of respective states an opportunity to lay the road map for the upcoming talks. It is a valuable platform for many Central Asian countries facing serious and direct threats from Taliban.
When ETV Bharat approached army veteran and defence analyst Brig (R) V Mahalingam about the crisis in Afghanistan, he described it as a problem of the world. He even questioned Pakistan's intent in negotiating a peace deal with Taliban. The defence analyst rather accused Pakistan of being interested in pushing Taliban elements into Kashmir to take control of it.
