New Delhi: Four days after Punjab CM requested Union Home Minister Amit Shah to look into the incidents of Pakistan-origin drones being used to airdrop weapons in the state, the Home Ministry has sought answers from the central agencies to know that why such drone movement was not detected.
According to Home Ministry sources, the National Technical Research Organisation (NTRO) has been asked to trace how many phones were functional along the international border with Pakistan at the time of drone activity in Punjab.
"NTRO will submit this report to National Security Advisor Ajit Doval," added sources.
On Thursday, Border Security Force (BSF) Director General (DG) Vivek Kumar Johri visited Punjab' Madhopur, Gurdaspur and Ajnala areas to review arrangements along the international border and aerial capabilities of BSF. He will visit Tarn Taran and Ferozepur border areas today.
