Pak Army decides to cut defence budget

Former Brigadier PK Khanna(Retd.) claimed that Pakistan Army's reputation has been going down and their clout in the government is reducing. Wing commander(Retd) Praful Bakshi has alleged that Pakistan is under "extreme pressure" following which the army decided to voluntarily cut the budget. Reportedly, Pakistan has decided to cut down the military budget.

New Delhi: In an unprecedented move, Pakistan Military on Thursday decided to cut its defence budget for the upcoming financial year amidst growing financial constraints.

Speaking to ETV Bharat, Former Brigadier PK Khanna(Retd.) claimed that Pakistan Army's reputation has been going down and their clout in the government is reducing.

"Pakistan has decided to cut down the military budget. After the Pulwama incident and Balakot strike there has been lot of financial constraints on Pakistan, especially after the civilian government led by Imran Khan imposed austerity measures to rebuild the ailing economy, " Khanna said.

"Deployment of armed forces in the frontier has cost them," he added.

Besides, Wing commander(Retd) Praful Bakshi alleged that Pakistan is under "extreme pressure" following which the army decided to voluntarily cut the budget.

"The move to cut the budget will be done in such a way that it doesn't affect their fighting capabilities and acquisition of arms," he said.

"Pakistan Army is controlling about 85 percent of national business dealings, they have stake in lot of activities," he alleged.
